Once a potential employer has contacted you to schedule an interview, you have cleared the first hurdle. This employer views you as a qualified candidate for the job. Your goals in an interview are to assess the desirability of the particular job opportunity and, if the job is deemed desirable by you, to do well enough in the interview to ultimately receive a job offer.

To achieve your interview objectives, it is best to proactively prepare for interview situations prior to being contacted for an interview. This interview preparation can be done prior to being contacted by an employer since the majority of questions you will be asked in an interview are about you and your background and are not specific to a particular employer. The same is true of most of the questions you would ask to assess an employer - they are not employer specific.

With this service, a Quest Career Transition Consultant will help you prepare for interview situations. Quest will forward to you a list of interview questions to review along with a list of suggested questions for you to ask to assess the desirability of a position you are considering. A time will be established where you will contact a Quest Career Transition Consultant by phone for a 45-minute session to help you prepare for an interview.

This session can be structured as a mock or practice interview. With a mock interview, your Quest Career Transition Consultant will provide you with feedback on your responses to the interview questions. If you prefer, this session could be used for the Quest Career Transition Consultant to assist you in formulating responses to the interview questions you found particularly difficult. You determine which of these two formats would best serve your needs.

In other words, the support is structured to meet your needs. An important part of the support would be to help you stay motivated and on track by helping you to set goals and by being an advocate you can turn to when you need someone to talk to about any aspect of you job search.
